Sparse reports indicate generally an inch or 2 of snow accumulation, with isolated totals around 3" over higher terrain in western New Hampshire. The remainder of the region, far northern New Hampshire and most of western Maine, remained cloudy but free of precipitation. Early morning temperatures stood in the upper 20s to around 30° across most of the region. Readings were in the mid 20s in the northern New Hampshire valleys. A more or less stationary front extends from the Atlantic coast to low pressure centers in western Pennsylvania and northern Illinois. The front then dips to a deepening low pressure system in Kansas. A ridge of high pressure extends southeast from west of Hudson Bay to northern New England. Expect snow to spread gradually north over all of New Hampshire and western Maine by afternoon. Snow will continue in southern sections, spread to central sections during the morning, and to northern sections in the afternoon. Most accumulation today will be in southern sections. Snow will continue tonight across the region with further accumulation. Sleet and rain will begin to mix in with the snow tonight annd Saturday as the atmosphere warms ahead of a low pressure system approaching from the southwest. === The weather observed at WHITEFIELD, NH at 08:52 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
