Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph continued to blow, with gusts as high as 35 mph over the lower Cape. Temperatures ranged through the 30s. A weak area of high pressure will make a brief visit today. Plenty of sunshine is expected during the day with seasonable temperatures. Another intensifying low pressure system currently over the plains states will be heading our way during the day. Cloud cover will be increasing during this evening as the warm front associated with this low pressure moves in from the southwest. Precipitation should start to arrive after midnight in the form of a wintry mix across most of southern New England. Primarily rain is expected across southeast Massachusetts and and south coastal Rhode Island overnight. Although this low pressure is expected to move to our north through New York state, its associated cold front should sweep through Tuesday afternoon and evening.
