Temperatures ranged from the 20s near the coast to the teens inland. A few spots in southern New Hampshire were near the 10 degree mark at 4 am. High pressure is sliding eastward away from the Massachusetts coast. This resulted in late night clouds spreading northward into Connecticut and western Massachusetts. They may spread farther eastward during the morning hours. Mild southerly winds will return this afternoon. As a result temperatures will warm to the mid and upper 40s from Connecticut to southeastern Massachusetts and to around 40 farther north over central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. An intensifying low pressure center will move from the eastern Great Lakes across Maine tonight. Rain and windy conditions will be widespread over all of southern New England tonight. That will change abruptly early Monday morning as a cold front moves across the region. A brief period of snow is possible just after the cold front passes. Clear, windy, and colder weather is on tap for Monday as the cold front rushes eastward and high pressure begins to rebuild from the northwest. === The weather observed at WORCESTER at 08:54 AM EST was: === The skies were cloudy.
