Another third place plaque sits on my desk, and a successful race weekend comes to a close. The number 98 apparently doesnt like turn 9, as SteveyRacer, who took 98, crashed in 9 on saturday. (He's home and mostly ok... hope to hear more from him later) Every practice session on saturday was smoother, faster, and cleaner, 'til the last two where Scott "he's so fab" Fabbro started running practice on the Buell Blast. I so could NOT let his lame ass little buell beat me, but I did, 'cause I'm not such a hot racer. :-p He did, however, lead me thru some turns a lot faster, which resulted in some picked up speed, and since my top speed is higher then his, I think I'll kick his ass next month. :) Best memory is coming out of turn 9 to see Scott next to me flappin' his arms and screamin' something, while I turn onthe go pedal and fly down the front straight. Too much fun. :) Sunday was horrid to start. Cold, chilly, had to wire my tyres, fingers frozen and hurting from the safety wire pliers designed for some kinda monkey. I'm nervous. Bike wont start on mostly dead batter, but bumpstarts quickly. I'm the first race of the day. No time to get nervous. I just go. How do I start again? Where do I go? where am I? which way is turn 1??! Sittin' in my spot, I'm looking at the starter, and everything calms down. Bike's in gear, engine's at 12,000 rpm steady, clutch is just engaging... The green flag drops, and the rest... (well, I'll write the rest later. I'm really tired now, and need a shower and a warm water bed filled with happy cats.) 20 months was tooooo long. Big HUGE MONSTER thanks to Squidboy for his tireless slaving to get and keep the little fzr running, and to the track and home again. Thanks also for putting up with the total little primadonna motorcycle princess. (Congrats on the 1st place in GT lites for 2002, as well as the second over all in 550 superbike for 2002. :) Gayathri (big happy tired smile, plus another trophy...)
