Well, called all my usual riding buddies, since I decided at the last minute that I didnt want to go all the way to Ortega today, but no one was available. Found my TonyA headset and stuck a CD (Meredith Brooks, "Blurring the Edges") into my player, and geared up and headed out. Its a little late, about 10 30 am, and as I hit the Crest, I'm paced by a cop car. I put it down to 43 miles per hour and listen to "Bitch" and giggle thinking of the recent thread on LaBiker... Cop car pulls over out of sheer boredom and soon I'm on open road. Well, there are some cages, but amusingly, they pull out of my way when I catch up. Yea, baby... ~You were my wild companion We were forever high, high, high We burned the night around us Sleeping could wait until we died~ Its all good, the air is clear, the roads are actually not as dirty as I thought, and its not that cold. I take Angeles Crest to Angeles Forest and see tons of sportbikes heading down AFH -- I'm alone, and there arent any cages in my way... Guess what? those decreasing radius turns are getting better and better. I'm diving deeper and deeper into them, the quick flick really working well today. AFH to Upper BiG T... ~It don't get much better than this There's nowhere left to run to No use worryin' 'bout what you missed 'Cause here it is baby It don't get better than this~ mostly, that's right. It just doesnt. Upper big T was totally clean up 'til it ran back into ACH -- there I saw snow, and runoff and sand and mud... but before, all clear, and open, and Huckleberry stretching out his legs, that big triple roaring around 8K rpm... Had a few messages so instead of heading up to Newcombs, I headed back down the hill. Again, clear roads 'cept for one bit of rocks and gravel, and not much traffic. Just perfect. Wish I'd thought to bring the camera tho. Next time, I'll have a case for it and will bring it along. Got back down the hill and got a call from my DGA buddy sayin' come and see this movie, "Talk to Her" with me. Zoom! I'm down with that. :) (BTW, it was GREAT. the lady bullfighter was HAWT.) Came home and unpacked boxes, and missed the invite to dinner, otherwise I'd have been there, Dan! Turns out we live about 3 miles from each other. :) Gayathri -- gayathri@world.std.com Calamari Club #002, WSMC #98 '88 FZR400, "gurlzbike" '98 T595, "Huckleberry Hound" "On with the dance!
