(mmmm. pancakes!) Deciding that neither of us a 200 mile day in us, we went up to Newcomb's to check out what was new. (ha ha) In the first few miles, I almost get killed by some wanker in a white corvette who was adjusting himself and in my lane as I came around a turn. What was particularly annoying was this was a right turn, so one tends to be on the outside near the double yellow. Good thing I had been slowing down to wait for Andrea who'd gotten caught behind some dope slow cager who couldnt use a turnout. I avoided him, gave him the finger and then for good measure, beeped my wimpy anemic horn. HA! Andrea gets by the lame cage, and we head up at a reasonable pace, looking for the police. None in sight. get up to Newcomb's and she runs into some coworker with an R1, so I sit on his buddy's gsxr750 and make vroom vroom noises as I consider a direct trade. :) (I dunno. I still want another liter bike. :-)) We get some iced tea but dont see anyone else we know, talk trash about everyone, comment on how Dale's ass has gotten so big, its becoming the size of his head, and how no one's heard from Hunter in days, one wonders if clowns have eaten him, complain about the two totally cute young skinny chicks working at Newcombs, and the start pumping each other up to go back down the hill the long way. (ok, most of this isnt true because if any of you actually know Andrea, you know she's a NICE person and wouldnt be all catty. The stuff about the skinny chicks is true tho.) I make Andrea lead on the way back, and man, she takes off. Superbike School has really helped her, and I enjoyed getting to watch her take the turns. (Andrea, Aug. 30, Hyperclub at the Streets, 135 Oct. 11, Hyperclub at the Streets, 135 Oct. 7, TrackDaz @ ButtonWillow, 135$ Oct. 21, Fastrack @ streets, ???) Anywhoo, we're having great fun, and her nasty Monster scares the few cages out into the turnouts, and as we stop at the top of Upper big T, both of us are screaming we're smiling so big. Upper Big T is a little dirty, but as I see those big Monster headlights in my rearviews, and as I up the pace a little at a time, she's still there, like a little BUG! whoohoo!!! I lose her a bit coming out of turns ('cause I tend to gas it coming out, and the couple extra hp over come the weight difference...) but she catches right back up going into corners and in straights. (We werent takin' our road called 90 mile at that speed, more like. um.. well, not 90. :)) Head on down from Angeles Forest to the Crest again and head on home. Thanks, Andrea, for a great ride! :) Newcomb's will s upposedly have their new menu in a week or so. The perfect end would have had us at Higley's for coffee, but both of us needed to head on home.
