Sarah B and I met in the AM and headed over to the breakfast place where we waited and waited and waited (and eventually gave up and ordered food.) (If you eat there again, order your food dry. They put margarine over everything. YUCKO!) Ended up abandoning the group when they arrived 30 minutes late (we'd arrived 30 min. early! and had already eaten), and headed to Ojai via SarahB's fav roads. Waited forever with the Cute Little Doggie outside of the Ojai Roasting Company and ate too many chocolate covoered expresso beans (important later) and watched what caffiene does to SarahB... (*snicker*) She ends up talking a lot and at a high rate of speed. Fortunately, my years as a New Yorker come in good stead here. The "group" shows up around noon. (Someone else give the list. I'm too tired) and decide to give up on the parade. (It started at noon, its almost noon now...) Jurij takes us on a bunch of roads. *jitter!* (oh, the beans.) *jitter* wait, what's happening to my throttle hand? wait! who let EvilSquidGrrl on this ride?!? Alan (not a lister) goes by me and passes poor Miss K on the right. We gotta remind folks that Kathryn is deaf and wont be able to hear a bike behind her, and people need to be careful passing her ( well, ok, they need to be more careful passing all of us...) Poor Miss K seems understandably annoyed and starts waving me by (of course, just as we enter a series of turns. i dont like passing in turns.) and seems to get more annoyed about me not passing her. I finally do get around but feel badly -- I was happy where I was. Hope EvilSquidGrrl wasnt pressuring anyone. Then, I think we're strafing in a most un-biker-friendly fashion past some cages on th 150, when one of them slams on his brakes as Sarah tries to go past. I see her braking hard and downshifting. Realize she must have downshifted too many times as I see her clutch hand let go and the bike's front end come up as she wheelies past the useless annoying stupid braking cage. (Which, btw, was not an SUV. But a small white car.) I laugh my ass off in my helmet as I blast past the cages waving merrily. yea, baby! horsepower! Some reason, its really easy for ME to pass them. We end up on some road (Something Moutain?) freakin' goat track. Lots of fun -- there were all these funny narrow bridges made of rocks making us feel like we were at the Isle of Mann TT ( going about 100 miles per hour slower.) I of course, immediately began to SUCK on this road. Argh. Tho the tight decreasing radius right handers werent making me nearly so crazy. Just dizzy. WHOOOOOooooeeeee!!! End up caught in lots of traffic in SB. (My memories of SB are always about getting caught in traffic.) we lose David "AssMan" Ables, and dont notice. (Really, he had to call the cute redhead on the w650) and we all go. "Oh!" poor david. *Its cause his ass really isnt that good. :-p* At this point, the beans have worn off, and no amount of caffiene is working. I need to head home. Sarah B, Alex (not a lister) and the guy on the seca 600 (tall guy. can't remember his name == Matt?) head on back, 101 to 150 to 23... at the 23 the two guys peel off, and SarahB and I head home via the 118 and 210 and some increasingly hooligan antics to get around cages. Best part was accelerating past the can to see the cop just pulling some cage over. HAHAHAH! not me! Thanks to Sarah B for leading the way and keeping me company. Thanks again to Jurij for putting so much effort into it. next time, less stops! :) Hope everyone made it home safely! Francoise, where did you go?
