It's a thrill pillioning with him. Seriously, I wish you >guys could have the pillion experiences I have had. You know, I dont think I envy you that much. I'm too much of a control freak, so pillioning just ... makes me nuts. I had plenty of opportunity to ride on the back before I bought my own motorcycle, but I never did. I think I never trusted anyone enough, and of those I did, I knew that I'd get a really _skewed_ view of what's a good and prudent speed for me when I first started. There have only been _two_ pillion rides I've ever done that I've enjoyed. One -- I was first in love with someone and rode on the back with him up the Crest on my own bike, and the second time, when I rode on the back with Reg Pridmore at CLASS -- my pace on the _track_ picked up immensely after seeing how smoothly one could go thru the turns. This could have been bad if I hadnt already had some level of riding ability. But the thing is, that if I had pillioned with such good riders before I'd ridden myself, I think I'd have this idea or mental image of 'how fast I ought to be going' that wouldnt have a good basis in reality, given the actual level and ability of my riding as a newbie. I have enought frustration NOW, knowing how much better I was a year ago, and how much screwing up during a race, and breaking a bunch of bones really impacted my riding. my 2 paise worth. :) Gayathri >-------------------------------------------------------------- gayathri@world.std.com Calamari Club #002, WSMC #98 '88 FZR400, "gurlzbike" '98 T595, "Huckleberry Hound" "We can't just stand here like ducks in thunder!"
