(more later, including watching Dustin Nyugen of 21 jump street fame whip off the slide bike and spin it like mad...) Sunday, it was my friend's Meg Hentze's birthday and we went for a ride by the beach. Putt putt on PCH and sand in my Daytonas whilst eating cake and looking at the water.... Lunch at a local biker hang out ( lots of boiled shrimp and steamed clams! yum!) and then off for some cawfee. We're on PCH heading south. Becky on her (i think) 1100 Honda cruiser, Robyn on her big ol' BMW r1100RT, me on the T5, and Meg in the rear on her BMW 650. Its warm and I have to admit, the pace was sedate. I'm listening to my helmet and checking for traffic. We're moving steadily with it. (I am drifting. My mistake.) I am in the left hand lane in the left wheel trak, riding staggered. I am suddenly surprised by a black mercedes coupe that pulls INTO my lane, travelling at the same speed half in my lane, half in his, but he's not _changing_ lanes. He's just straddling the lane marker. I beep to remind him I'm there, but the old man blublocker shades never look at me. He's staring right ahead, and now starts to drivft over. I am LAYING on the horn and am about to kick his car door to wake him up (as well as planning on braking hard to avoid being suished into the middle curb....) I'm worried he's going to speed up and hit robyn -- she's in the right hand wheel track in the lane. My honking notifies the two riders ahead as to what's up, and I slow down as the Black Mercedes suddenly zooms to the right and into the far right lane. Meg comes up to me and yells that he was waving his fist at her when he did the same thing to her. If I had been alone, I would have lanesplit quickly to an intersection and turned off the road, but with 4 of us, I didnt want to leave anyone behind. We all slowed down to a crawl to see what the driver would do next. He paces in the far right lane but is blocked from us by a RV. (I never thought I'd be grateful for an RV!!) He then zooms ahead of the RBV and swerves ahead of it. (RV driver lays on HIS horn) and then he starts to swerve into our lane again. We stay slow and next to the RV. Finally, he comes to a stop in a right turn only lane. (I really dont want this guy behind us, but I fugre we can turn off left at the next light!) except that he then zooms down the right turn only lane and slams ahead of a line of cars to zoom off at a light... Unfortunately, none of us got any part of his license, and all I glimpsed was black mercedes coupe, possibly oriental male, and a cream coloured shirt and fake looking blublocker wrap arounds around / over his glasses. Fucked up. I'm glad none of us got hurt. I'm not sure what else we could have done, tho I'm _angry_ at myself for letting him get next to me and surprise me.
