(not on a monday or wednesday!) :) Tony -- Big Thanks for leading us all. :) I had no idea it would get THAT big! Who showed up? I wish I had a PalmIII, I'm going to forget someone. Newcomers: Joe Krause on gf's R6. Jess and Jon Rust on pretty yellow VFR800 Jon's Squidly Friend, Brady on new 929 (schweeeeeeet!) The New Nice Friendly Guy: Jeff on VTR The Usual Suspects: Jean on sweet SV CW on the bandit (?) Some Friend of theirs on a Superhawk Tony A (thanks again!) on the SV650 with the Lights Kurt Krause on his 916 KenT on the Red Triumph Sprint RickD on the Black Triumph Sprint Me on the Yellow Triumph T59509 :) Jim Dutton (long time no see!) on the vtr1000 Cowboy on the Harley SideCarMike with the vmax sidecar and now I cant remember who else... But we had 18 bikes and 19 people (Jon -- I've only recently started taking a passenger, but hope to have one on the back more often... as was stated before, most of the women LaBikers tend to pilot their own vehicles...) After milling about and finally getting into our gear, we left the Rock Store and headed West on Muholland to Decker Canyon down to PCH, West on PCH to a stop at some seafood place whilst people got gasoline, and then up Yerba Buena to a left at the fork (this was the 1.5 lane two way road) to Deer Creek Road (whoo! whatta view!) -- this was where some of the LaBikers had to pull someone off of a berm -- he'd pulled into the turnout too quickly and couldnt get the bike stopped and almost rode it off the side, but his lower fairing caught the berm and stopped him. This squid was on a kawasaki of some sort and wasnt with our greoup -- I recall that TonyA was saying they were "holding him up" when we got to the bottom... his "friends" were really unconcerned about him when we told them what we'd seen... Back onto PCH to Las Posas -- this is where I saw poor Kurt on the Botts Dots in the rear view as I vainly tried to keep up with TonyA and Miz Jean... Then we got onto Potrero Road, lots of nice open sweepers here and I'm following Kurt and (this is someone I've forgotten) when CW comes by like a bat outta hell. Whee!!!! then a little jog thru some nice new neighborhoods (wonder how much those houses cost! three and 5 car garages!) back onto Potrero to 23 south (oh, I love this road!) back to Muholland to the Rock Store (see the cops by the lookout?) Then we're all milling about and I'm hungry and Tony's hungry and I put on my helmet and we head off to find the BBQ place. Ostensibly we're following sidecarmike, who did a great job of leading from the rear. :) Food was yummy and lunch companions SideCarMike, TonyA, KenT, Cowboy and Rick made for a good time by all. Finally, RickD and I head home via lower Tujunga and angeles Forest and the Crest. (We took Topanga north to 101 East to 405 N to 118 N/E to 210 West to Sunland) There we meet up with Some Guy on a silver 955i and the CBR guy with over 200K miles on his bike (he ran into a bear recently) and followed them up... whee! tho the crest was painful at 50 mph all the way down... good thing its only 9 miles. Home to airconditioning, cool ice'd tea and some hard cider, the Law and Order marathon and laundry. :) All in all a great day! Thanks again, to everyone who came along! I hope y'all had as much fun as I did.
