2006 Card


Like its 28 predecessors, this card visually summarizes our lives' events the year it was made. However, there is a textual key to the images, and on the other side of that this year we printed straightforward photos taken in 2006. In addition Eva's 2006 book and movie lists were enclosed with the card.

The back of the envelope was sealed with one of these stickers:

Custom-designed official U.S. postage stamps: Besides the limited edition (20 exist in the world) stamp of the trumpet-blowing angels at the gates of the cemetery in Herman's ancestral hometown of Pubnico Nova Scotia, I also designed a stamp to celebrate Chez Christophe, a restaurant in the Acadian region of N.S. where we had a particularly lovely lunch with friends and family. 2007 Card

The key to the symbols, a text document embellished with 2008 with an ice-skater tracing out the 8, and two harlequin ducks flying
The key to the images summarizes in words the events of our personal lives in 2007. On the other side of that textual explanation we printed photos taken in 2007. There were variations on the photo-page.

In addition Eva's 2007 book and movie lists were enclosed with the card.

The groove-billed ani, black vulture, Muscovy duck, great-tailed grackle, white-faced ibis and neotropic cormorant are all black right;

Front and back of the envelope, followed by the sticker alone:
The return-address label is graced by a photo of a Harlequin duck swimming. The address label boasts a circularly cropped flying Northern Gannet front; The seal is a photo by Eva of a Scrub Euphonia encircled by green lettering identifying the bird with a touch of red lettering that says Merry Christmas back; The Scrub Euphonia sticker by itself sticker;
