Trivia XIIby the Quizmeister | ![]() |
The Quizmeister must confess to a gasp error of omission. In the last issue of the Reporter he failed to note that the Rev. Robert A. Lewis of Edinburg, Virginia, a UCC minister and Old South congregational alumnus, correctly answered (via our web page and e-mail!) the question about Old South's stained glass prophets. A prized-by-collectors plate is on its way to the Old Dominion.
Last issue's Trivia question was a stumper, because nobody answered our question "Who is Clarence Burt?" Mr. Burt is one of the gentlemen whose names is to be found on the Honor Roll of Old South members who fought in the Great War. The plaque can be found in the narthex -- right behind the sermon rack where interested parties can pick up copies of Jim's preachments, OSC calendars and other good stuff. In this season of blessings, it is appropriate to reflect upon and be grateful for those who fought to ensure our way of life - including that of the freedom to worship God.
Our next question: What's the deal with the head-and-wings stained glasswheel window over the church's front door?

A correct answer and trivia glory can be yours . . .
