Happy Spring 2000 from Two Good Eggs!
Amanda (now 2 1/2) & Nate (1) continue to do well and develop their unique personalities.
Not that we have particularly pushed them in one direction or another, but it is
now quite clear that Amanda is a "girl's girl", all sugar and spice, and
Nate is a boy's boy, all snails and puppy dog tails. The latest manifestation of
this "gender-typing" is that Amanda now will only wear what she calls
"Goldilocks" clothes, which translates to dresses only. For some reason, she
really identifies herself with Goldilocks (with Evan being Papa Bear, Annamarie as Mama Bear
and Nate as Baby Bear of course.) She is constantly replaying various scenes
from the story, climbing into one chair "This chair is too hard!" and then
another, "This chair is too soft!", etc. And of course, she wants porridge
for breakfast (although whether she eats it or not is another question.) She
also loves to play with that china tea set that her grandparents gave her for
Christmas and can amuse herself for quite some time with it.
Nate on the other hand is always charging off in one direction or another --
and he takes after his Dad in being kind of a slob when he eats. He is taking his
first steps with the walker or with parents holding his hand and he will stand
for a second or two on his own before he realizes that he is not holding on to
anything and sit down. He also loves to play "football" on the bed before
bedtime, diving headfirst into Dad so he can be thrown back, only to come
charging back once again. This activity is a good one to get him tired out
to go to bed and fall asleep right away! (But his mom hasn't quite adopted this
technique as yet.)

Thanks for checking in on them and we wish you a happy springtime!
