LESSON 1: The Sun Shader in DataCAD X3
by Evan H. Shu, FAIA
One of the most anticpated new features of DataCAD X3 is the SunShader. We will cover how it works
to create shadow and shade renderings and animations and whether it has fulfilled its exciting promise.
LESSON 2: Solid Modeling with Bonzai 3D
by Eric H. Gjerde, AIA
Bonzai3D is like SketchUp on steroids, a very powerful solid
modeling tool. We will look at the intuitive interface that makes it a great design tool.
We can see how a napkin sketch can turn into a production drawing. Get it touch with your inner Frank Gehry.
LESSON 3: SketchUp Movies
by Eric H. Gjerde, AIA
This lesson will cover how to make movies of your projects in SketchUp. Along with a sample video,
we will cover numerous tips and suggestions of how to get in touch with your inner Steven Spielberg.
Note: AIA Members & Massachusetts Registered Architects can earn 3 CEU credits for attending.
Broad Street is one block west (up State Street) of the Custom House
Tower on
Boston's waterfront. From the corner of State and Broad Streets, 52
Broad St.
is one block south on the left side, on the corner of Milk and Broad.
Parking
is available on the street (theoretically). There are some nearby street
lots
and the nearest parking garage is located immediately in front of the
New
England Aquarium across the Southeast Expressway. Best bet is take
the "T" in to State Street or Aquarium stop.
