LESSON ONE: DataCAD X3 & Networks:
taking advantage of your office network for a library of symbols, drawing storage and backup, etc.
by Neil Blanchard
How can you best use an office network to help you with the myriad needs of CAD? We will cover storage and backing up drawing files, as well as sharing symbols and other network issues, with emphasis on using DataCAD X3.LESSON TWO: Using the Symbol Browser and X3
by Neil Blanchard
Some of you may still be using Templates. We will cover the advantages and disadvantages of using Templates vs. Symbol Browsers, and the best way to transition away from Templates to Symbol Browsers, especially using DataCAD X3.We will also cover renaming folders and symbols using prefixes to get symbols into the order that makes the most sense and mimicking Templates when you need to.LESSON THREE: Reference Files & X3
by Neil Blanchard
How do you handle the use of Reference Files in creating construction documents. We will cover Reference (XREF) Files of all types: external, self-reference, and symbols and review how DataCAD X3 had added new capabilities in this area. We will explore when use of symbols make sense (townhouses or hotels for example), and when Self References and/or External References gain the most advantages.
Note: AIA Members & Massachusetts Registered Architects can earn 3 CEU credits for attending.
Broad Street is one block west (up State Street) of the Custom House
Tower on
Boston's waterfront. From the corner of State and Broad Streets, 52
Broad St.
is one block south on the left side, on the corner of Milk and Broad.
Parking
is available on the street (theoretically). There are some nearby street
lots
and the nearest parking garage is located immediately in front of the
New
England Aquarium across the Southeast Expressway. Best bet is take
the "T" in to State Street or Aquarium stop.
