* LESSON 1: Creating & Using Hyperlinks in DataCAD
by Evan H. Shu, FAIA
This feature is very underutilized in DataCAD, yet is a powerful one and very easy to use. Evan will demonstrate how and where you might use hyperlinks in your work for adding productivity.

LESSON 2: CAD/BIM and 3D Printing
by David Munson, Munson3d
You will learn what to expect from 3d printing and how it changes the nature of physical models.
David will define and evaluate the workflows for creating 3d printed models using Revit, Max Design, DataCAD and Z-Edit Pro.  The Z-Corp Spectrum Z510 3d printing machine will specifically be described.  Integration with tradition techniques and laser cutting will be addressed and demonstration models will be passed around.

LESSON 3: A Look at the Netbook
by Evan H. Shu, FAIA
Evan will give you a hands-on look at this amazing little and affordable "netbook", the Asus eeePC that is great for surfing, writing, and reading is a size that will fit in your coat pocket.

LESSON 4: Habitat at the Eye of the Storm
by Mike Hallor
Mike Hallor will relate his experiences as a three-time returnee to Bay St. Louis, MI -- the eye of Hurricane Katrina -- where he participated in reconstruction projects sponsored by Habitat for Humanity and a local church parish.  He will share images of the locale shortly after the storm and as recent as this past November.  He will explain about how coordination of religious and humanitarian organizations has successfully aided recovery and how Habitat’s competent planning makes the most of highly committed, but often unskilled, labor. Included will be views of several Habitat projects and certain characteristics of stick frame building in hurricane areas.

Note: AIA Members & Massachusetts Registered Architects can earn 3 CEU credits for attending.

Directions to BSA Building, Map Link

Broad Street is one block west (up State Street) of the Custom House Tower on
Boston's waterfront. From the corner of State and Broad Streets, 52 Broad St.
is one block south on the left side, on the corner of Milk and Broad. Parking
is available on the street (theoretically). There are some nearby street lots
and the nearest parking garage is located immediately in front of the New
England Aquarium across the Southeast Expressway. Best bet is take the "T" in to State Street or Aquarium stop.
