* BASIC LESSON: Hatching Principles & Review of HatchKit
by Evan H. Shu, FAIA
Evan will review the basics of how a hatch is written and how it is used, in
order to set the stage to review an intriguing third party program called
HatchKit that will allow you to visually create and edit your own hatch patterns.

* INTERMEDIATE LESSON: Backing Up Your Files with Beyond Compare 2
by Greg Barriere, AIA, Barriere Design Associates
Greg will review the use of this excellent backup software that is great for
comparing the status of folders containing working and archive files. It will
compare two drives, two folders, or two files in any two locations and let you
know the characteristics of each (file date saved, size, etc.)

* ADVANCED LESSON: AEC CAD Exchange
by Michael Smith, Signature Architects
Mike will showcase his new website service that will allow FREE exchange of peer-
to-peer construction industry details. The purpose of the site is to:
   1. Facilitate the free exchange of peer to peer construction industry details,
specifications and information via the Internet.
   2. Provide a free online forum for AEC professionals to openly discuss
industry details and concerns.
(The site is currently in Alpha testing, so your input and suggestions are most welcome.)

Note: AIA Members & Massachusetts Registered Architects can earn 3 CEU credits for attending.

Directions to BSA Building, Map Link

Broad Street is one block west (up State Street) of the Custom House Tower on
Boston's waterfront. From the corner of State and Broad Streets, 52 Broad St.
is one block south on the left side, on the corner of Milk and Broad. Parking
is available on the street (theoretically). There are some nearby street lots
and the nearest parking garage is located immediately in front of the New
England Aquarium across the Southeast Expressway. Anticipate traffic delays
due to the Big Dig. Best bet is take the "T" in to State Street or Aquarium stop.
