Frog on the Lilypad : This is a later Bill Monroe tune that became popular thru the 1980’s. Recorded at Grey Fox festival, 20002.

Mike introduces the tune and is playing mandolin, along with Skip Gorman on mandolin and Richard Starkey playing guitar.

Trouble in Mind : Mike’s bluesy break to an old standard. Recorded live at The Station Inn, 12/14/01. Mike was playing with the Instrumental Knights; he also plays The Station Inn regularly as part of The Sidemen.

Take Me Home: This is a song written in honor of Bill Monroe. Take Me Home was co-written by Tom Ewing with

the help of Billy Joe Foster when they were Blue Grass Boys together in 1987. Tom was the guitar player and lead singer

from 1986 to 1996, and Foster served two stints as fiddler during 1986-87 and 1988. Mike played mandolin on several of Tom Ewing’s recording projects. This song was recorded April 26th, 1989 and was released on Tom’s CD entitled It’s Good To Be Home, Niptune NPBCD-027. Used with the kind permission of Tom Ewing.
