PERFECTTUNE

Perfect-Tune

The Perfect-Tune is a heavy-duty piezoelectric device which will greatly aid in the tuning of all flavors of acoustic instruments. The piezo element picks up the vibrations and frequency of the strings and transmits them to an external tuner device, which can then accurately read the frequency of the vibrations, without the interference of ambient sounds. Because of their ability to isolate these acoustic frequencies, other applications for the Perfect-Tune have been found in fields such as Horology. The Perfect-Tune consists of a heavy, pure copper test clip which is disassembled, reworked, fitted with a piezo element, attached to a coaxial cable and standard 1/4" plug. The clips are Mueller solid copper test clips, either #48C or #27C. The toothed edges of the copper clip are first hammered flat and then coated with a rubber compound to both protect the finish of the instrument and to give the clip a better grip on the instrument.

The piezo itself is trimmed to fit the clip and soldered to the inside of the clip and then covered with epoxy to seal it and protect it. The coaxial cable is soldered to the piezo element, as well as grounded to the clip. The other end of the cable is soldered to the plug, making the connections overall very solid, both electrically and physically.

I have been quite fortunate in that I have developed a number of loyal customers amongst the 'professional' musicians I know. I enjoy the reputation my product has gained.

I produce the Perfect-Tune in my workshop and sell them at festivals in the Northeast.

Shown above are the two current models I produce.

My current Perfect-Tune basic (shown on the right in the photo above) model sells for $25.00, with a P&H charge of $2.00, for a total of $27.00 (US). My 'Industrial Strength' Perfect-Tune is shown on the left above. It features a larger clip and uses a 'RightFoot' right angle phono plug. It sells for $30.00, with a P&H charge of $2.00, for a total of $32.00 (US). To order, please send a check or Money Order in U.S. funds to the address below. At the present, I do not accept credit card orders. If you include an email address with your order, I will notify you upon shipment.
