Pagan temple at Garni

This temple has been restored; some stones are original, but many have been replaced after various earthquakes.

The stone is a gray basalt, not the white marble you think of for Greek temples. There's lots of intricate stone carving inside, a magnificent gorge behind the temple, and foundations of ancient storehouses and baths off to the right.
