About Shoptalk Systems Dear reader, Shoptalk Systems has been in the business of producing friendly, practical and fun programming software since 1990. We got our start selling Toolbox/V, an object oriented toolkit for Smalltalk programmers and by selling individualized C programming training. Way back when Microsoft introduced Windows 3.0, they decided not to produce a Windows version of QBasic, their free BASIC interpreter. Seizing the opportunity, and thinking it would be a fun project, we decided to write our own version of BASIC for Windows. We dubbed it Liberty BASIC thinking it was the perfect name for a programming language anyone could use. Ever since we've been carefully adding to Liberty BASIC, making it more and more useful, but always aiming to keep it simple. It is our ambition to be the people's BASIC language. We grew up in the early days of home computing and have a strong appreciation and understanding for what a hobbyist's programming language should be... useful and fun! We apply our more than 22 years programming expertise to accomplish our goal! We know you'll enjoy using Liberty BASIC as much as we do! Thanks! - - Carl Gundel, author of Liberty BASIC |
