©So then what is a Museum Classroom?

A school or museum space designed for and dedicated to interactive teaching and learning. This indoor or outdoor space is devoted to exploration and discovery through interaction with (but not limited to) works of art, science, mathematics, and human perception. It allows students and teachers to learn through exploration, play, and experimentation with tools, materials, and other educational resources©

Setting the tone for Inspirations, Ideas, Experimentation, and Inquiry:

A. Physical Components:  The environment will be organized in stations for interactive learning through explorations, investigations, and pursuits of ideas. It will reflect an ever-changing museum with stimulating exhibits.

B. Critique Wall -    Our "middle gray" wall includes three large bulletin boards with spotlights for group and individual critiques of ongoing and completed works. Students observe, analyze and discuss their work using design elements and principles as the foundation. Students learn with their classmates and the instructor during the process and return to their work with different viewpoints.

C. Tools and Materials Workshop Space -  Areas are organized for student independent use, including art, science and technology-based tools.

D. An in-class library is organized to offer books, posters, and objects for Nature studies including both Storage and Display areas.  There is a need to establish current effective computer and audio-visual offerings in the classroom both for group demonstrations and appropriate research.

E. Creating Artifacts -  Students have created painted murals, ceramic tiles murals, and stained glass murals.  Students have repaired and created art stools.

 F. Featured Artist Space -  Throughout the year, student, community, and professional artist works are displayed. These works enhance and support curriculum. This provides an area that highlights exemplary work as students explore mediums.Visiting Artists share their expertise.

G. Teacher as Artist in Residence - Altered books, light/dark ox-plow books, sketch-book journal/sketchbook/scrapbook, critique session participant

It also will include an amphitheatre for the Theatre Arts and Music programs. Water and electricity are included.
