    year two: E&D exhibits are field tested in four school systems, Princeton, Leominster, Andover, Easton

    year three: Cambridge and Worcester host the exhibits for 12 weeks each with four sets of the exhibits - shared in four schools

    year four: teachers in Cambridge and Worcester create exhibits they keep for their schools

  • The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) was founded in 1979 to stimulate the arts and humanities in cities and towns throughout Massachusetts. It receives annual support from the National Endowment for the Arts and seeks other public and private funding for special initiatives. With its partner, the New England Foundation for the Arts, they promote the exchange and development of arts resources in the New England region. They support intiatives from individuals as well as cultural institutions.

    Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce 1996 - 2001

    Local business leaders fund the construction of our exhibit loaning center.

    Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce also lends support for Student Explainers, construction of Uxbridge Youth Center Museum and Visiting Artist Studios

    BVCC approves funding for river studies project for 2000 - 01.

    Parent Advisory Council and the Uxbridge Public Schools

    A supportive community funds the construction of the Blackstone River Monument.

    Unibank for Savings

    1994 - A local bank funds phase 2 of the river monument.

    1999 - Additional support for Visiting Artists Studios and Gallery at the mill.

    Massachusetts Department of Education Community Service Learning Grants 1997-2002

    Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor Commission - 1998-2002 artist workshops and mill museum

    Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce

    1998 - 2002 The Chamber has provided critical seed money for each phase of E&D at the Bernat Mill. This includes the establishment of the Visiting Artist Studios and Millworks Gallery, The Youth Center Museum, and The River Classroom. Most recently The Chamber has committed funds for community programming from these three resources.
