Through a competitive $5000 grant awarded to schools in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, energy education has become our central theme. Funding comes from the umbrella Corporation for National Service. CONNECT funds exciting projects that teach about energy, involve students in service, and create conditions for reflections from those service experiences that will further enhance learning, and benefit the larger community. Through community service learning, students gain first-hand experience by actively participating and sharing responsibility for wise energy use. Teachers gain needed resources, develop long-lasting partnerships, and promote civic responsibility.
