Budapest - The view is from  historical Buda  to commercial Pest with the Danube separating the two.


Budapest - Fisherman"s Bastion.  This late 19th century structure is on Castle Hill and affords great  views of Pest.  The above picture was taken from it.


Budapest - Sunset view of Castle Hill and Royal Palace In Buda.  The Chain Bridge (1849) can also be seen.  The Chain Bridge was the first bridge to span the Danube in Hungary.


Budapest - Chapel near the Vajdahunyad Castle (see below) in City Park.


Budapest - Vajdahunyad Castle (1896) in the City Park.  It is partly modelled after a fortress in Transylvania but with Gothic, Romanesque and baroque wings.  It  now houses the Agricultural Musueum..


Budapest - Hosok Tere (Hero's Square) in City Park.  The monument was built in  1896 for the millenium of the Hungarian/Magyar conquest of the Carpathian Basin.  The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is in the center.


Budapest - Sunday afternoon strolling along the  banks of the Danube with the Parliament Building (1904).


Budapest:  Royal Palace.


Budapest:  Royal Palace.  It now houses many museums, including National Gallery and Budapest History Museum.


Budapest:  Chain Bridge.


Pecs (Southern Transdanubia).  Doug with an interest piece of street art...a collection of locks!.  Pecs is a historical town with many excellent museums, including the Zsolnay porcelain museum and a variety of art museums.
