Dennis J. Ahern, born 12 August 1858 to
Denis Ahern and Ellen Fitzpatrick
in West Cambridge, Massachusetts, baptized 14 August 1858 at St. Peter's in Cambridge
(godparents: Patrick and Margaret Fitzpatrick), died at the age of 76 on Monday, 1 April
1935 in Arlington. The cause of death was a chronic arteriosclerotic heart. He was
buried on Thursday, 4 April 1935 in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Arlington.
Dennis J. Ahern (aged 26) married Margaret E. Lane (aged 17) on Thursday, 28 August
1884 at St. Malachy's in Arlington (witnesses: Edward Fitzpatrick and Nora Lane).
Margaret E. Lane, the daughter of Michael Lane and Mary G. Cahalane, was born
on Sunday, 14 July 1867 in Kildarra, Innishannon, County Cork. She died at the age of 87
on Monday, 23 August 1954 in Arlington. The cause of death was myocarditis due to
arteriosclerosis. She was buried in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Arlington.
They had the following children:
- Helen "Nellie" Agnes Ahern, born on Wednesday, 29 July 1885 in Arlington,
baptized 2 August 1885 at St. Malachy's (sponsors: Edward Fitzpatrick and Nora Lane),
died due to measles on Sunday, 26 June 1887 in Arlington, buried with the Lanes in St.
Paul's Cemetery in Arlington on Monday, 27 June 1887.
- Mary Frances "Fran" Ahern, born on Friday, 4 March 1887 in Arlington, baptized 6
March 1887 at St. Malachy's (sponsors: Patrick Ahern and Ellen Lane), died due to cerebral
hemorrhage, and arteriosclerosis on Saturday, 24 June 1978 at 21 Webster St. in Arlington,
buried on Tuesday, 27 June 1978 in Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Arlington. She never married.
- Eliza Ann "Elsie" Ahern, born on Friday, 30 August 1889 in Arlington, baptized 1 September
at St. Malachy's (sponsors: George Ahern and Mary Lane), died due to eclampsia with bronchitis
on Monday, 30 May 1892 in Arlington, buried on 1 June 1892 in St. Paul's Cemetery in Arlington.

and married Harry Andrew Russell (aged 50) on Sunday, 20 October 1940 in Arlington.
It was his second marriage. After her death, he married for a third time and later died in Florida.

Thursday, 8 May 1902 and buried in St. Paul's cemetery in Arlington.
- Leo Clifford Ahern, born prematurely on Tuesday, 30 June 1903 in Arlington, baptized
at home 3 July (sponsor: Mary J. Keniston), died due to an obstruction of the hepatic
duct on Friday, 3 July 1903 in Arlington, buried in St. Paul's cemetery in Arlington.

myelogenous leukemia which had lasted 10 months, thrombocytopenia which had lasted 9
months, congestive heart failure and gout. He was undergoing a blood tranfusion at Peter Bent
Brigham Hospital in Boston when he suffered a stroke on Wednesday, 8 December 1976.
He married Mary Elizabeth Higgins on Thursday, 28 November 1929 at the Church of St. John
the Evangelist in North Cambridge.
- Elizabeth Ahern, born prematurely on Thursday, 18 June 1908
in Arlington, baptized privately 19 June, died on Sunday, 21
June 1908 and buried in St. Paul's Cemetery in Arlington.
