John Coolidge Educational Fund Fellowships

The New England Chapter, Society of Architectural Historians invites applications for student fellowships supported by the chapter's John Coolidge Educational Fund. Fellowships will be awarded to a graduate student at a New England college or university.

The Coolidge Educational Fund supports two fellowships:

1.) The John Coolidge Research Fellowship assists graduate students working on topics in architectural history through an award of $500-1000 to support their research. Applicants should submit a proposal (not to exceed three pages, typed and double-spaced) that explains the significance of their overall project, its current stage of development, plans for its completion, and a detailed plan of work that addresses how the funded research will fit into the larger project. Applicants should also submit a budget, a curriculum vitae, one letter of reference (preferably from the studentŐs adviser), and the source and amount of any other current or potential funding for the project.

2.) The Robert Rettig Student Annual Meeting Fellowship helps graduate students in architectural history to attend the Annual Meeting of the Society of Architectural Historians. For support of $200-$400, plus a registration fee waiver, to attend the Annual Meeting of the Society of Architectural Historians in Savannah, Georgia, applicants should submit a statement (not to exceed two pages, typed and double-spaced) explaining how their studies will be enhanced by attendance at the Annual Meeting and indicating the source and amount of any other funding the applicant may receive. Applicants should also include a curriculum vitae and the name and telephone number of their faculty advisor. Preference will be given to students not presenting papers at the meeting.
