Here is an additional suggestion: "Rethinking the Mission of American
Education: Preparing the Next Generation for the Civil Society" by Jeremy
Rifkin. This thought provoking article appears in the January 31 issue of
EDUCATION WEEK.
Rifkin is the President of the Foundation on Economic trends, based in
Washington DC.
