A cold front will slowly work its way south across our region during this
afternoon and early evening. This frontal passage does not have much moisture
to interact with so just a period of clouds and perhaps a few flurries are
expected with its passage. Otherwise, skies will be partly to mostly sunny
today. Behind the front, the coldest air of the season will affect southern
New England by late in the day Thursday and last through Friday night with
wind chills -10 to -15 near the coast and -15 to -25 over the interior and
higher elevations. There will be a chance of snow showers Thursday as well.
Record cold will be possible Thursday night and Friday. Be prepared to bundle
up because the chances of frostbite will increase dramatically.
