Any snow will taper off and come to an end early this morning. Total snow
accumulations will range from 1 to 2", with locally 3" possible. 3 to 5" will
have fallen at higher elevations above 500 feet. This will likely result in
areas of treacherous travel early this morning. It is recommended that plenty
of time be allowed to get to your destination this morning. Take it slow, as
any ice may be hard to spot underneath the light coating of snow. Speeding in
this situation can result in many accidents as well as spin-outs. Leave a lot
of distance for braking. Windy and cold weather is expected for the rest of
today and tonight with cold wind chill values especially tonight. Winds could
gust to 40 mph at times, especially late this afternoon and evening. Another
system could deliver more accumulating snowfall Sunday night into early next
week as low pressure moves to the south of New England.
