Mixed precipitation should end as all snow in much of the region late tonight. A brief period of heavy snow is possible from the east slopes of the Berkshires and high terrain of northern Connecticut into Rhode Island and south coastal Massachusetts. Conditions could be quite nasty on the lower Cape and Nantucket overnight with sustained winds around 30 mph gusting past 45 mph and rain or snow falling heavily for a little while there too. Lows will range from the lower 30s south coast to the upper teens Worcester hills and Monadnock region. Friday will see clearing but it be windy. Temperatures will remain below freezing, values actually steady or falling through the day! Any leftover ice from the valentines day storm or the overnight snow will freeze solid by nightfall. Saturday will continue windy and cold but essentially dry and then there should be less wind on Sunday as high pressure builds into the area from central Canada.
