Chilly northwest winds continued to blow through the night, with gusts to 40 miles an hour in a few spots. Temperatures were in the single numbers and teens, which combined with the wind to bring below zero wind chills across most of the region. High pressure building along the coast will bring sunny skies today. The sunshine will take some of the edge off the cold, but readings will still be chilly in the mid teens to mid 20s. Temperatures should cool off in the early evening. Then clouds will thicken during the night, forming a blanket that will allow temperatures to actually rise a little overnight. Those clouds are leading a developing storm in the Great Lakes. The storm will move across northern New York Tuesday and pass across northern New England Tuesday night. This will keep quite a few clouds over the region on Tuesday, but with little in the way of precipitation for us. The storm will eventually swing a cold front across southern New England Tuesday night. This will bring a chance of rain and snow showers late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
