An area of rain moved across the region with widely scattered showers. Temperatures were mainly in the mid 30s to mid 40s, except some upper 40s on the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands. A cold front will push across the region during the day today. This will bring showers to the region. As colder air begins to work into southern New Hampshire, the rain may mix with sleet or snow before it ends later today. Highs will be in the 40s to around 50. As the front settles south of New England tonight then stalls, skies will remain cloudy. There will still be a chance of rain across northern Connecticut, Rhode Island and south central and southeastern Massachusetts. There could also be a mixture of sleet or freezing rain over inland areas. Overnight lows will fall to the upper 20s to around 30 mainly north of Route 2, ranging to the upper 30s on Cape Cod and the islands. A weak area of low pressure will move along the stalled front late tonight and Sunday, bringing another round of light precipitation. There will be a mixture of sleet and freezing rain early in the day, but the precipitation will change over to rain during the day. However, late in the day, a mix with sleet could move back into southern New Hampshire and far northern Massachusetts. Highs will range from the mid and upper 30s inland to the mid and upper 40s over Cape Cod and the islands.
