Amounts generally ranged from one tenth to one third of an inch. Shortly before daybreak, the back end of the rain had reached a line from Manchester New Hampshire to Worcester Massachusetts to Willimantic Connecticut. Temperatures were close to the freezing mark in far northwestern Cheshire county New Hampshire, which could make for isolated slippery spots very early this morning. Otherwise, overnight temperatures remained in the upper 30s to upper 40s. Any leftover showers on the Cape and islands will quickly end by mid morning. Skies will be mostly sunny across the region today with afternoon highs in the mid 40s to near 50. Northwest winds will gust to around 20 mph at times. As high pressure establishes itself across the mid Atlantic states and southern New England tonight and Monday, skies will be clear tonight and Monday will be a spectacular day with abundant sunshine and temperatures warming to the mid and upper 50s, except cooler along the immediate coast. Clouds will be on the increase Tuesday but it should remain dry with high temperatures again well into the 50s with 60° not out of the question in a few locations. A cold front will move into southern New England Tuesday night or Wednesday with a surface low pressure system developing along the front by Thursday. The timing of this system is still somewhat in question. The upshot is that there will be a chance of showers Tuesday night into early Wednesday, then a better chance of rain Thursday. As cold air dives in behind the low, there is a chance that rain could change to snow by Thursday over interior areas. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
