The mercury is only expected to remain in the teens during the entire day. The winds will become stronger as the day progresses, which will only add to the bitterly cold conditions with wind chill values remaining below zero for most of the day. Winds will gust to between 35 and 45 mph today, with the highest gusts expected this afternoon. These gusts will be strong enough to make driving difficult at times, especially for high profile vehicles. Scattered power outages could occur as well, along with light objects being tossed about. A few scattered flurries or snow showers are expected today under partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures tonight should fall to between 5 and 10 above zero along the coast, with readings around zero over the interior. Winds will diminish, but still remain quite brisk which will allow wind chill values to drop to between 10 and 15 below zero. Tuesday and Wednesday will be dry with temperatures several degrees warmer than today. Despite the cold, no big storms seem to be on the horizon at this time. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 07:54 AM EST was: === The skies were clear.
