Otherwise, cloudy skies with areas of drizzle and fog remained. Early morning temperatures ranged from the upper 30s and lower 40s. Clouds skies along with areas of drizzle are expected along the coastal plain today. Further west, skies may become partly sunny for a time this afternoon across the Connecticut river valley. High temperatures should range from the lower 40s along the northeast Massachusetts coast, to between 50 and 55 in the Connecticut valley. Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight. There will be the chance of some light rain showers or drizzle. The precipitation may be in the form of light sleet across northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. There may also be some freezing drizzle and light snow across the higher terrain of northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Precipitation amounts should be rather light, but some icy patches may develop on untreated roads and walkways across the higher terrain. Low temperatures should be in the low to mid 30s. A coastal storm is expected to bring rain to much of the region Wednesday and Wednesday night. The precipitation may be in the form of sleet at times across northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. There may also be some freezing rain across the higher terrain of southern New Hampshire. The precipitation may change to snow across southern New Hampshire Wednesday night, with light snow accumulations possible. However, at this time it appears that the heavy snow accumulations will remain to the north of the region. High temperatures on Wednesday should range from the upper 30s to the mid 40s.
