A stationary front divided cool maritime air to the east and warm and humid continental air along and west of the Connecticut river valley. Low clouds and fog patches were mainly concentrated across northeast Connecticut, Rhode Island, central and eastern Massachusetts as well as Cape Cod and the islands. Low temperatures this morning were generally in the 50s except around 60° in the Connecticut river valley and points west. The stationary front will begin to lift northeast as a warm front today. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible later this afternoon across northwestern Massachusetts and southwestern New Hampshire. Locally heavy downpours may create some brief poor drainage flooding. Highs today will range from the 80s across the interior to the 70s along the coast except mid 60s along portions of the immediate south coast. An isolated evening shower or thunderstorm is possible across far northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire this evening. Low clouds and fog patches will reform mainly along coastal sections tonight. Otherwise it will be partly to mostly cloudy. Lows will generally range from the upper 50s to lower 60s. A cold front will advance from the west late Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along the front mainly over the western half of the region during the afternoon.
