Patchy dense fog formed across the interior valleys as well as Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard. Low temperatures ranged from the 50s to the lower 60s in the urban centers, except upper 40s on Nantucket island. An upper air disturbance will cross the region today with considerable high clouds. Scattered and thunderstorms are possible today, mainly over western New England this afternoon. Highs will be in the 80s except 60s and 70s along southern Rhode Island and southeast coastal Massachusetts including Cape Cod and the islands. A backdoor cold front will cross southern New England late tonight with considerable clouds and just a slight chance for some light rain or drizzle near the coast. Patchy fog will develop. Lows will range from the upper 50s across the east to the lower 60s across northern Connecticut. Clouds will give way to increasing sunshine Tuesday.
