This brought some much needed rain to the region, with amounts of one to three inches in most places, and higher amounts in southwest Connecticut. All this moisture in the air and ground led to patches of fog, with some dense fog on Nantucket. Temperatures overnight ranged from the mid 30s through the 40s. The main portion of that low pressure will move through New England today. This will bring two periods of showers, one during the morning rush hour and a second during the afternoon. The atmosphere will become much more colder and unstable during the afternoon, will will allow for scattered thunderstorms and perhaps some small hail. Temperatures at the ground today will top out in the upper 40s to mid 50s. The low will move off to the east tonight, allowing some breaking of the clouds by morning. A cold front will sweep across southern New England during the afternoon, bringing another round of showers during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will start the day in the upper 30s and 40s, and climb to the 60s most places. High pressure will then build in to bring us drier weather for the latter half of the week. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 09:11 AM EDT was: === The weather reported was fog.
