Widespread showers this morning will become less numerous this afternoon, as clouds give way to breaks of sunshine by mid to late afternoon. This sunshine may provide sufficient heating for a few afternoon thunderstorms to develop. By tonight, low pressure over Pennsylvania this morning will move north of our latitude this evening. This will shift our winds to west southwest, promoting drier weather to overspread southern New England tonight into Wednesday. Sunshine Wednesday will push temperatures into the upper 60s and low 70s. A weak trough of low pressure will move across the area Wednesday night and may yield a few rain showers. Behind the trough, fair weather will build into New England Thursday along with warm temperatures. Low pressure exiting the Great Lakes Thursday night will likely bring another round of showers to the region Thursday night and Friday.
