Temperatures at 5 am ranged from the mid 40s to lower 50s. Cloudy skies with spotty light rain and areas of drizzle and fog will persist today as east to northeast winds transport moisture across the region. Only a small recovery in temperatures is expected today with highs struggling to reach 50 along the east coast of Massachusetts, but near 60 in the Connecticut valley. More of the same weather is expected tonight, but a steadier rain may reach the Connecticut valley and east slopes of the Berkshires late tonight. Lows will be mostly between 45 and 50°. Rain will overspread the region from west to east during Friday, and likely continue through Saturday and possibly into Sunday as low pressure stalls south of the region. Very heavy rainfall is possible during this period.
