Temperatures at dawn were in the 50s. Today will be mostly cloudy with showers most numerous this morning and a tendency for drying this afternoon. The only glimmer of hope for salvaging the afternoon is in southwest Rhode Island and northern Connecticut. Highs will be in the 60s. Tonight will start with scattered showers or sprinkles in northeast Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Otherwise it should be mostly cloudy with a breeze stirring the cooler air. Lows will be within a few degrees of 50. Sunday promises to be a nicer day with only a small chance for a brief afternoon shower or sprinkle. Temperatures will be warmer, with highs from the mid 60s to lower 70s. Monday is looking very nice with much more sunshine and highs generally well up in the 70s. Low pressure this morning was intensifying steadily just east of gloucester, having moved only 30 miles in 5 hours. Wraparound showers will certainly make this an unsavory morning and midday for many hoping to enjoy outdoor activities. The low will move to eastern Maine this evening then to the Maritimes tomorrow where it weakens on Monday. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:54 AM EDT was: === The weather reported was light rain.
