Some locations saw a touch of frost, or even a freeze this morning. Temperatures bottomed out at 28° on Marthas Vineyard and 32° at Provincetown where skies remained mainly clear all night. At 5 am, temperatures ranged from 30° on the vineyard to a mild 48° at Hartford brainard airport. High pressure will hang strong across the region today for a dry but cool day. Sunshine will be filtered by those high clouds, which will remain the rest of the day. Highs will mostly be in the 60s, with some 50s along the coast. Clouds will continue to thicken tonight, but any rain should hold off through the night. Lows will bottom out in the 40s with some upper 30s across southwest New Hampshire and north central Massachusetts. Tuesdays weather will go downhill, especially along the coast and on Cape Cod and the islands. Rain will move in off the ocean, reaching coastal areas by midday, then moving to central areas by the end of the day. Highs will range from the mid to upper 50s along the coast to the mid 60s across the Connecticut valley. An area of high pressure will remain nearly stationary over downeast Maine to Nova Scotia through most of this week.
