The showers ended, and skies were generally partly cloudy across northern New England during the overnight hours. Winds were light, and that allowed patchy fog to form in the usual locations. At 300 am, temperatures ranged from a low of 36° in Berlin New Hampshire to a high of 57° at Manchester New Hampshire. Morning sunshine will be replaced by clouds in most locations today as a cold front moves east from Quebec. Showers can be expected with the front, and the showers will be more numerous across the mountains and northern Maine. Elsewhere, the showers will be more scattered nature. The clouds will keep temperatures several degrees cooler than Friday afternoon, as winds shift to the northwest with the passage of the cold front. Highs today will range from the mid 50s across the mountains to the lower 70s over southern New Hampshire. The front will move offshore this evening, and take the shower activity with it. Most places will see at least partial clearing later this evening and during the overnight hours. A west to northwest breeze will help drop temperatures into the upper 20s across the north to the lower 40s across southeast New Hampshire by daybreak Sunday. High pressure building in behind the front Sunday from the midwest will bring mostly sunny skies and a west to northwest breeze. The breeze will drop off during the afternoon hours, and along the coast the sea breeze will try to come ashore. Highs Sunday will be much cooler than the past couple of days, with highs ranging from the lower 50s across the mountains and northern Maine to the lower to mid 60s across southern New Hampshire. A weak warm front passing north of New England Sunday night will bring mostly cloudy skies across the north, and partly cloudy skies to southern sections. However, no rain is expected. Lows Sunday night will be cooler than past mornings, and areas that remain partly cloudy could experience a frost or freeze by Monday morning. High pressure moving offshore Monday will turn winds to onshore, resulting in cooler temperatures with a general increase in clouds. Low pressure developing along the mid Atlantic coast will bring a period of unsettled weather for the middle of next week with cool temperatures. === The weather observed at WHITEFIELD, NH at 08:52 AM EDT was: === The skies were clear.
