The heaviest of the rain fell in a 60 mile wide band just east of the Connecticut river valley. Early morning temperatures were in the mid to upper 40s with northeast winds at 5 to 15 mph. An ocean storm will continue to provide our region with periods of rain, drizzle and patchy fog today. High temperatures will only reach the upper 40s and lower 50s. Although the steadiest rain will fall today, areas of very light rain, drizzle and fog will linger tonight. Low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s. The ocean storm will move far enough away from the region on Thursday, to allow the low clouds and patchy fog to burnoff. Skies will become partly sunny and temperatures will rise into the 70s away from the coast. Sea breezes will keep the immediate coast much cooler with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Another beautiful day is on tap for Friday. Partly to mostly sunny skies will send the mercury into the mid to upper 70s even on the immediate eastern Massachusetts coast. The only cooler locations will be found on the Cape and islands where southwest winds blowing off the ocean will keep highs in the 60s. === The weather observed at WORCESTER, MA at 08:54 AM EDT was: === The weather reported was light rain.
