At 5 am temperatures dipped to around 10 below zero across sheltered interior sections, but were as high as 10 above along the south coast. Mid to high clouds streamed overhead through the night. For today, high pressure over southern Quebec will keep charge of the region. Mid to high clouds will continue to blanket the region but will alter between partly to mostly cloudy. Along the outer Cape and Nantucket, a north to northeast wind flow could bring increasing low level moisture and form low clouds. Under this low cloud deck some flurries are possible. High temperatures today will rise into the low teens to low 20s. A quiet and cold night is on tap again tonight with mid to high clouds blanketing the region. Morning lows will range from zero to near 20°. But as high pressure to our north begins its retreat, and low pressure over the Ohio valley and a coastal storm off the mid Atlantic coast begin to merge and head north, clouds will begin to lower toward morning. These two low pressure systems will merge Tuesday then head offshore south of Long Island Tuesday night. A light snow will begin to develop across the region from west to east as early as Tuesday afternoon, but then is expected to come down in ernest Tuesday night. Expect snow to continue into early Wednesday as the merged systems strengthen into a gale southeast of Nantucket. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 26-Jan-2004 00:45 EST === 1am: 31005kt P6sm Ovc200 6am: 36008kt P6sm Ovc180 1pm: 02008kt P6sm Ovc120 10pm: 03008kt P6sm Ovc090
