The clear skies and light winds combined to allow temperatures to fall to the single numbers most places, and below zero in southern New Hampshire. A storm in the Ohio valley will pass south of New England this afternoon. Clouds associated with this storm will be with us for much of the day, but no snow is expected. Skies will then clear toward sunset. Temperatures will be slow to rise, reaching the mid teens to around 20° early this afternoon. As the storm moves off to the east, northwest winds will increase over New England. This will draw more arctic air across the region tonight. The combination of increased northwest wind and the cold air will mean wind chill values going below zero. In southwest New Hampshire and much of northern and western Massachusetts, the wind chill values will be 15 to 20 below zero. Because of this, a wind chill advisory has been issued for that part of New England. High pressure will build across the region on Sunday, leading to another bright sunny day.after the cold start, temperatures will be slow to recover, reaching the mid teens to lower 20s. The next storm to reach New England will bring clouds to the region Sunday night and a chance of snow or sleet Monday night and Tuesday. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 24-Jan-2004 06:36 EST === 7am: 28010kt P6sm Bkn120 11am: 28014kt P6sm Ovc050 6pm: 31015kt P6sm Sct050
