Some light snow ahead of a warm front moved east across New York state, but that snow dried up as it reached the Berkshires. With conditions otherwise fair, the overnight low temperature ranged from near zero in northwest Massachusetts and southwest New Hampshire, to around 20 along outer Cape Cod. Low pressure north of the Great Lakes will pass north of New England today. The low will swing a warm front to our north this morning, and then swing a cold front across New England during this afternoon. There is a chance of light snow in some places this morning, but the better chance of seeing snow will come this afternoon as the cold front moves through. While any snow shower could dump a quick inch or so of snow, no significant snowfall is expected. As the low moves into the Maritimes tonight, it will intensify. This will help to increase the wind across New England, and that wind will draw another surge of cold air into the region. Wind chills will once again be bitterly cold, reaching values tonight of between 5 and 15 below zero. High pressure will build across the region over the weekend, bringing sunny days and clear nights. But temperatures will remain chilly with daytime readings in the teens and 20s, and nighttime readings ranging from a little below zero to the teens above zero. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 22-Jan-2004 06:25 EST === 7am: 22007kt P6sm Ovc050 10am: 22012kt P6sm Bkn035 Ovc080; Tempo 1-3pm: 5sm -shsn Ovc020 4pm: 27012g22kt P6sm Bkn100 10pm: 29015g25kt P6sm Skc
