Early this morning, temperatures had fallen into the teens, with single digits observed in the normally colder valleys of northwest Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Winds were from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph, although a bit stronger on the Cape and islands, and light and variable in the valleys. Mostly sunny skies are expected today, as highs will only reach into the 20s. Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph will make it feel even colder. The dry and cold weather will continue into tonight, as lows range from near zero in the coldest valleys, to between 10 and 15 above on the Cape and islands. Mostly sunny and cold weather will continue on Wednesday. Highs should top out in the 20s, to near 30. An arctic cold front will approach the region on Thursday. This front may bring a brief heavy snow shower to portions of the region, and usher in more very cold air. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 20-Jan-2004 06:20 EST === 7am: 28016g23kt P6sm Skc 10am: 30014g25kt P6sm Few050; Tempo 12-4pm: Sct040
