Afternoon high temperatures ranged from the upper 20s to mid 30s across much of the region. At 10 pm, temperatures were in the mid teens to lower 30s. These temperatures will only drop a few more degrees overnight. As the coastal low moves up the east coast overnight, light snow will spread across the southern portions of southern New England after midnight. This snow will continue through Wednesday afternoon as the storm passes well to the southeast of Nantucket. The snowfall will come to an end by Wednesday evening. Greatest snowfall accumulations will be along Block Island, Marthas Vineyard, and Nantucket, where 4 to 6" are expected. Snowfall amounts will gradually taper off further north and west, with little or no snow expected in western and northern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. If the coastal low were to track closer to the New England coast, however, higher snow amounts may occur. As this coastal low departs, weak high pressure will build from the west Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will rebound to seasonal norms. === === === ORH Terminal Aerodrome Forecast issued 18-Feb-2004 07:26 EST === 7am: 05008kt P6sm Sct025 Ovc100; Tempo 10-12pm: Bkn070 1pm: 02012kt P6sm Sct025 Bkn250 9pm: 35013kt P6sm Bkn250 6am: 32008kt P6sm Bkn100
